Meet Dr. Gretchen Reis, M.D.

Dr. Gretchen Reis, M.D.

Gretchen Reis, M.D. is a physician specializing in bioidentical hormone therapy and the Medical Director of Integrity Wellness MD in Charlotte. Dr. Reis went to college at the University of Wisconsin, and then earned her MD at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. She completed a residency in Family Medicine in Lancaster, Pennsylvania and then went into private practice.

Although she was passionate about working with her patients to achieve optimal wellness, she grew frustrated with how difficult that was with the traditional healthcare system’s focus on pharmaceuticals. She transitioned out of her solo family medicine practice in Ohio to start a functional medicine practice in Charlotte. She now addresses health from a whole-body perspective and uses bioidentical hormones to help optimize overall health.

Dr. Reis and her husband Bill have 4 children whom they fostered and then adopted, including their youngest who has nonverbal autism.

HERE'S WHAT MOST PEOPLE DON'T KNOW...

3 Little-Known Facts About Hormones

"My Labs Are
Normal..."

With labs "in normal range", why do I have symptoms?

Your hormones can be in range... but not be optimal. The "normal range" is just based on an average of people (healthy or not). If you find yourself towards the lower or higher end, your hormones aren't in the optimal range. That's why we go beyond standard lab tests to find out why your hormones are imbalanced... checking other values that standard labs often miss. Take the first step to reclaim your vitality, and take the short quiz!

Nutritional
Deficiencies

Are nutrient deficiencies impacting your hormones?

Without proper nutrition, your body can't make vital hormones. Most people, even healthier eaters, have nutrient deficiencies due to stress, gut issues, toxic exposure and taking medications. Using an integrative approach, we first evaluate all possible root causes of hormone dysfunction – including possible nutrient deficiencies and factors that drain your batteries. And if your body doesn’t have the raw materials it needs your hormones simply can’t function the way they should.

Impact Of
Gut Health

GI issues can mess with your hormone balance

Gut imbalances frequently turn into hormonal imbalances! Gut imbalances like reflux, leaky gut, or bacterial overgrowth can disrupt testosterone, cortisol, and thyroid levels. Trying to fix hormones without addressing gut health first often backfires. We see it all the time: men struggling with fatigue, low drive, or poor results on TRT because the root cause is actually in the gut. Before jumping into hormone therapy, it’s critical to fix what’s happening in your gut.
